tinseltown starts!

Started my Christmas wrapping!!! And my presents counter :)

This year, I decided to cut things down. By cutting things down, I mean that I've come to feel that running around shopping for every.single.person.in.church to become rather meaningless, especially if I'm not particularly close to them.

I don't know. I just find it absolutely weird to not talk to that person the whole year even if we see each other in church, and then on Christmas day to go up to that person, wish him/her 'Blessed Christmas' and give her a gift :p

After all, remember this saying? :

"Rings and jewels are not gifts, but apologies for gifts. The only gift is a portion of thyself" - Ralph Waldo Emerson

So if I don't even spend time giving off a portion of myself with some, how meaningful can my gifts be, right?

But the hubby is the kindest soul on earth and always wants to make sure that I have a gift for every.single.person.in.church! :p

So this year, I told the hubby that I wanna do things slightly differently. While I still have some gifts for people I'm not close too (coz I couldn't resist giving them something I thought is suitable!), but I will cut down a lot.

First, I decided to give something smaller and simpler to those I'm not close to in church. Really simple. Eh, but don't salah faham ... If you get something small that I'm not close to you haha! There's one close friend who doesn't really 'celebrate' Christmas so I thought she'll be happy with something simple from me too :)

Second, decided not to give everyone this year, especially since I'm not working with the YAs anymore, some of their gifts (those whose parents are at church too) will be a general 'family gift'. Be prepared. Lol!

Third, I'm aiming at buying and wrapping all church gifts by 10th of December! This is because I don't want the season to be a 'season of aimless meaningless rush!'

PLUS

Fourth, I wanna focus a bit more time on leisurely shopping for those I'm closer to. Just wanna get them something a bit more meaningful. So I'm clearing all 'mandatory' (Lol! That sounds so sad right? Forgive me for the expression!) gifts first and then slowly leisurely experience the joy of shopping for something more meaningful for the ones closer to me - which is family, the YPs and a small bunch of close friends :)

Don't worry. If you're reading this, you're probably one of those I'll be spending a bit more time getting something meaningful for ;) Lalala.
