snippets of singapore

My first time in Singapore in December! Back when we were going almost annually because of work, it was almost always mid-year. So I was excited to see the much-raved about Orchard Road Christmas decorations.

Giant snow flake bauble! This picture taken especially for the one who loves snow baubles *coughyouknowwhoyouarecough*. Here's a life-sized one!

Orchard Road Christmas Deco this year. I wasn't impressed lol. It looked just like normal decorations. The only one I liked is the last photo above because it had a bible verse. Actually, I feel One Utama's deco last year was the loveliest (the winter English village). In fact, our mall deco seems to be better lah :p

Lunch with Kit and Jeanne after church. Pak Cham Kai and olive rice. Nice :)

And Singapore is, of course, to me, a lot about ...

1. Chocolates! Haha. Primarily because one can find imported candies there which can't be found back home here.

2.Gelato

3.Unusual shops

Top row, cute craft shop. Second row, cute stationery show with color coded merchandise and a cookie shop. Crazy expensive cookies - one standard sized tin for S$42. One interesting thing though - Nasi Lemak cookies, and it actually tasted good!!! Exactly like Nasi Lemak!!! Seriously.

Charlie Brown Cafe! So cute!

4.Unusual food

I love looking for pork-laden and alcohol-laced food whenever I'm in Singapore, hehe. Joy :)

REAL alcohol ice-cream!!!

A visit to the toy museum. Nice :)

Kit's condo where we stayed. Really lovely place, like a hotel

My purchases! Hehe. Food, food ... and more food! What else to buy in Singapore, right? Chocolates and Bagel Chips. I love Bagels! (with cream cheese!) And of course, some food souvenirs (and a postcard) for loved ones :)

Oooh....I forgot. The main reason why we went to Singapore :

To watch Broadway's Wicked the Musical! It was AMAZING. One of the most spectacular stage shows I've seen thus far. Amazing use of technology, equipments and 'stage tricks'. Loved it :)

Can't believe it's only one more week to Christmas! Time flies. And I've got an interview to teach in a private school next week.

Daunting, but exciting at the same time.
